The makings of a designer

About me

Ai picture for discord.JPG

Hey! I'm Nick, a UX designer and Web Developer in training. My designs are driven by the desire to create experiences that users will not only find easy to use but will also genuinely enjoy interacting with.

When I'm not working on my design skills, I'm usually at the gym, practicing music, or exploring the world of gaming. My background and motivations are based in psychology, as I was previously a student of the helping professions. All of these things influence my take on design principles, and I strive to always put forth my best effort.

UX/UI Design

I learned the foundations of UX and UI during the GA Tech bootcamp and I am continuing to hone my skills with each opportunity I get. It is my goal to continue learning from senior designers while working an entry level postion.

Research Processes

I have an understanding of testing and research practices from the perspectives of both UX/UI and experimental psychology. Conducting user research is the foundation of any good design and testing is the key to developing a polished final product.

Web Development

I have the basic skills needed to create websites using HTML, CSS, Javascript and JQuery, as well as Bootstrap. This is a skill that I am seeking further education on.

Interpersonal Skills

My experiences from previous jobs and being around the helping professions have taught me great communication skills. I know how to perform under pressure and make the most out of interpersonal interactions even when issues arise.

Apps and Tools

I have experience with many applications such as Figma, Adobe XD, Visual Studio Code, Github, Microsoft Office, Google drive, and more.

My Mission Statement

To improve the lives of others by providing high quality, accessible designs with a smile.

While I was originally on the path to be coming a therapist, my creative drive took me in a slightly different direction. I have a passion for UX design that started with music and sound design but evolved into something more marketable.

I want to create experiences that users will not only find easy to use but will also enjoy interacting with and looking at. Doing so with research-based design principles allows me to produce the highest quality of work.
